BIOGRAPHY OF PETER BAIRD

Pete Baird is President and principle system designer at Eagle Communication, Inc.  His interest in audio/video equipment began at the age of twelve by running the 16mm projector for movies shown at church.  This “Preacher’s Kid” spent many hours at church and this helped to make it “fun”.

Attending over 3000 worship services, from suburban Catholic to inner city Pentecostal, has provided the ability to study and relate to different styles of worship.  Pete is currently investigating “ancient /future” worship as it relates to post modern society in America.  He has visited Mars Hill in Grandville, Michigan and Rock Harbor in Costa Mesa, California.  He provided the design and managed the installation of sound, video and lighting systems for Vintage Faith Church in Santa Cruz, California where Dan Kimball (The Emerging Church) is pastor.  He is involved with a start-up in Brighton, Michigan, The Well, an emergent  “church within a church”.

Pete has also attended services and studied numerous high-profile churches including:

Brentwood Baptist, Nashville, TN
Ginghamsburg Church, Tipp City, Ohio
Central Christian, Las Vegas, NV
Granger Community, South Bend, IN
Cherry Hills Community, Highland Ranch, CO
North Point Church, Atlanta, GA
Christian Church In The Valley, Phonex, AZ
Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, CA
First Baptist Church, Atlanta, GA
Willow Creek Church, S. Barrington, Il.

Pete’s involvement throughout his life at different levels of church leadership gives him the ability to see the needs of ministry from different perspectives.  These roles have included:

Chairman of an elder board and worship leader for a church with 500 attendees
Director of a 50 person young adult ministry and small group leader
Deacon at a church with 2000 in attendance
Member of the worship planning team for a non-denominational church with 500 attendees
Member of the technology team for a portable church
Teacher / trainer for Evangelism Explosion for 15 years
Formal education for Pete includes:

BS Mechanical Engineering, University of Colorado
Bachelor of Theology, William Tyndale College
Masters of Science in Business Administration, Madonna University
His masters degree research project entitled “The Effects of Multi-Media On Spiritual Development” provided the opportunity to study a congregation on the value of video projection used in worship.  This scientific study found that the worshipping audience is more engaged in the sermon and music when video images are provided as support.

Hundreds of churches have used his expertise in the design and installation of sound, video and lighting systems.  These systems have one goal:  making the worship experience more engaging on those in the audience.

BIOGRAPHY OF ANTHONY ROGALSKI

Tony’s career in the audio/video/lighting industry began as the age of 20 when he worked as a studio technician for In-Store Broadcast Advertising in Buffalo, New York, where he grew up.  They provided audio advertising at the point-of-sale in retail establishments and Tony’s responsibility included overseeing the recording and the distribution of the messages.

Tony was offered a position in Detroit working at Comcast Sound Communication, Inc., in the sales department.  His responsibilities included design and sales of sound systems for music, paging and voice reinforcement.  In his 11 year career at Comcast he was always among the top producers for the company which had 19 offices throughout the US.  He was always the leader among the seven sales reps in Detroit.

Tony and Pete met at Comcast in 1985.  Pete was hired to develop a marketing strategy to churches and professional audio system users for Comcast.  Tony and Pete worked together with Pete providing the design support and Tony the sales interface.  They formed a relationship that has stood the test of time.

In 1994, Comcast sold this division and the new owners were not interested in pursuing the church market.  Pete had moved into the position of General Manager but the new owners decided to eliminate this position. They turned over the religious client base to Pete and Tony and they formed Eagle Communication early in 1994.
The primary thrust for Eagle has been working with churches to increase the use of technology in the worship events.

Tony has worked with hundreds of churches, meeting with Pastors, music ministers and other church leaders to discuss and provide solutions for their needs for technology in the worship activities.  This has developed beyond basic sound reinforcement systems to include video presentation and recording, theatrical lighting and acoustical treatments.

The majority of the Catholic priests in the Detroit Archdiocese know Tony by name.  He is well respected by the Cardinal and his staff.  Tony is equally well thought of among other church leaders both denomination and non-denominational. He has built a reputation of integrity, knowledge and trustworthiness.

St. Blase of Sterling Heights, Michigan is Tony’s home parish. He has been very active there for many years.  As video chairman for the Parish council, he developed the plan and gave oversight to the implementation of incorporating video presentation and recording for the worship events at St. Blase.  The worship events are now more engaging to the audience.

Tony works with architects, consultants, equipment suppliers and end users to make sure the systems are properly designed and implemented.  He is usually at a brand new install on Sunday morning making sure that everything is working as designed and making sure the client is satisfied.  He understands the value of relationships that are critical to success in business.

Tony has an excellent ear for music both sacred and secular and is an avid listener. His training includes the psychology of music on the listener.  He understands the intellectual and emotional connection between the sound delivered from a loudspeaker and the response of the audience, both positive and negative.  He knows how to get the listener involved in the musical presentation.  This knowledge helps him to be effective in designing systems for worship—systems that get the listener involved.
